What Vehicle Works for a UK Golf Tour?

Seat count alone can be misleading. A vehicle advertised for seven or eight passengers does not automatically have space for the same number of golf bags and holiday suitcases. For a VIP experience, these are our practical planning figures when each golfer brings clubs and luggage:

These are golf-tour figures, not the number of passenger seats. Before confirming a current-vehicle booking, we ask for the size and number of golf travel bags, suitcases and carry-ons so we can agree the right arrangement with you.

Can Seven Golfers Tour the UK in One Mercedes V-Class?

No. White Glove’s VIP V-Classes have five or six passenger seats, depending on the vehicle, and for a tour involving clubs and holiday luggage we would ordinarily plan for no more than two golfers. A conventional V-Class advertised with seven seats does not solve the separate problem of carrying seven sets of clubs, seven large suitcases and hand luggage.

For seven golfers travelling before the Araror Club is available, we would plan an appropriate arrangement using current vehicles and assess the complete luggage list. From 2027, the seven-seat Araror Club will provide the one-vehicle VIP solution designed around this exact requirement.

A Golf Tour Planned Around Your Group

Your itinerary can begin at a UK airport, hotel or private address and take in the courses and regions you most want to visit. A dedicated chauffeur can remain with your group as you travel between hotels and courses, so you have continuity throughout your tour rather than arranging a new transfer for every stage.

Tell us your preferred courses, tee times, hotels and travel dates. We can then discuss daily timings, waiting arrangements and any flexibility needed if plans change. Your quotation will set out the agreed transport, chauffeur arrangements and relevant journey expenses clearly before you book.

Some groups arrive with a list of courses they have always wanted to play. Others want help building a relaxed journey around one or two golfing regions. We can plan the chauffeur travel around your chosen tee times, hotels and airports, with enough time to enjoy each destination rather than spending the whole tour in transit.

St Andrews and the East Coast of Scotland

For many visitors from the United States, St Andrews is the starting point for a dream golf trip. A tour based in Fife could include St Andrews Links and Kingsbarns Golf Links, with Carnoustie Golf Links added as another memorable day. Staying in the region for several nights keeps the pace comfortable and leaves room for a meal, sightseeing or a rest day between rounds.

Play at a particular course, including the Old Course, depends on its own booking arrangements and availability. We arrange the chauffeur journey around the tee times your group has secured or is planning to request.

England’s Golf Coast

The coast around Southport, Liverpool and Lytham offers an excellent base for several days of links golf without changing hotels every night. Courses that could feature on an itinerary include Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham & St Annes, depending on your preferences and tee-time availability.

Your chauffeur can collect the group from the airport, take you between your hotel and each course, and remain part of the same travel arrangement throughout your stay. There is no need to repack every morning simply to reach the next round.

Kent and the South East

For golfers beginning or ending a UK visit in London, Kent offers a possible coastal extension. Royal St George’s and neighbouring Prince’s Golf Club provide two distinct links-golf experiences around Sandwich. A tour could combine golf with time in London or a transfer to your departure airport.

Some clubs have specific visitor days, booking conditions and handicap requirements. We will shape the driving itinerary around the rounds you are able to arrange, rather than present a sample route as a guaranteed golf package.

What Could a Five-Day Golf Tour Look Like?

A group flying into Edinburgh might spend five days exploring the St Andrews area:

Day 1: Airport collection, transfer to your hotel in or near St Andrews, and time to settle in.
Day 2: Golf at a St Andrews Links course, subject to your confirmed booking.
Day 3: A round at Kingsbarns, followed by a relaxed evening in the area.
Day 4: Travel to Carnoustie for golf, returning to your hotel afterwards.
Day 5: A final morning at your own pace and transfer to the airport or your next UK destination.

This is an illustration, not a fixed itinerary. We can allow for different arrival airports, longer stays, rest days, non-golfing companions and a combination of golf with sightseeing. Golf travel cases can be much larger than an ordinary golf bag.
